From Ji to Tao: A Preliminary Discussion of Research on Values of Mathematics
Abstract: Value is the core component of the cultural system, and it needs to solve the problem of "why". The values of mathematics are the core component of the study of mathematical history and culture, paying more attention to the values of the pursuit and orientation of mathematics in different societies, different cultures and the community of mathematicians, especially the question of "why to do mathematics". It is of great practical significance for the study of the current history of mathematics and the reform of mathematics education to carry out the study of the developmental progress, the characteristics of the development of Chinese mathematical values and the differences between Chinese and Western cultures.
