On April 10, at 9 a.m. Beijing time, the eighth session of New Perspectives on the History of British Science from the 17th to the 19th Centuries was held online as scheduled.
The theme is The Empire and Gender. The first speaker is JIANG Hong, whose speech title is : Angel’s Wings: Three British Women Illustrators and Colonial Ornithology. The next speaker is QIAN Yibin, whose report title named Challenge or opportunity? The establishment of the North China Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society in the context of scientific imperialism. The meeting was hosted by Professor Bernard Lightman.
