Abstract: As a limited way of human existence, engineering inevitably has its shortcomings in the sense of existence; The limits of human cognitive ability determine the inevitable pitfalls and failures in engineering. The appearance of the reflective concept of engineering imperfection not only helps people to reflect on themselves through engineering, but also helps people to deal with the relationship between man and man, man and nature with “inter” thinking. To return “engineering imperfection” itself provides a new way for people to understand engineering, and helps to build projects that are in the public interest.

Key Words: Engineering; Imperfection; Existentialism; Epistemology; Ethics idea
