Realization and Limitation of Filial Piety by Robot Nursing

Abstract: Chinese traditional filial piety requires “doing good to parents”, which is embodied in three aspects: “raising relatives, respecting relatives and obeying relatives”. Robot nursing can be divided into three levels: shallow care, deep care and good care, which echo the three aspects of filial piety. At present, the development of robot nursing ability can basically meet the requirements of “raising relatives”, “respecting relatives” and “obeying relatives”. Therefore, theoretically speaking, nursing robots can act as helpers for children to practice filial piety, thus helping children to perform filial piety better. However, there are still some practical problems in practice, such as ambiguous responsibilities, false communication and relationship changes, so it is necessary to face up to the role played by robot nursing.

Key Words: Robot nursing; Filial piety; Positive value; Practical problems
