Abstract
The representation theory of finite groups is the core and essence of the finite group theory. It is also one of the most powerful tools for studying the structure of finite groups. This paper explores the reasons behind the establishment of the representation theory of finite groups, and offers an in-depth analysis of the origin and creation of its thought process. It also shows the historical context and the process of thought. At the same time, this paper provides a new perspective on the research of the history of algebra, that is, we can value the whole history of algebra by studying the history of the representation theory of finite groups.
